Instructions for use of One
Day Aircraft Noise Events
This report provides data from noise monitoring sites around the airport.
Each report provides information about the number and level of recorded aircraft noise events for a specific noise-monitoring site. A noise event is logged using special sound recording microphones and measurement instruments at each designated noise-monitoring location around the airport. This information is stored in a database and used as the foundation for analysis and reporting.
· The noise events are listed in blue and are logged in decibels (dBA).
· These noise event levels are referred to as Lmax, or the maximum noise level reached in decibels during that event.
· The hour of the day is listed horizontally along the bottom of each table and uses the 24-hour clock designation.
· The number of events recorded is listed vertically on the left-hand side of the table and logged chronologically by occurrence.
Simply select the report name, then the site and date you wish to view, and the report will appear in this window. Once you have retrieved the information you want, clicking the "Print View" button will format the table for easy, one page printing.
Should you need to review these instructions or view the available noise-monitoring site and date information while navigating the tables, clicking on the “Help” button will bring you back to this page for further reference.
